NEWS WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2006 C-3 Catherine Gildea Balasic, formerly of Piscataway Arthur O. Nettingham, formerly of Plainfield PETERSBERG, Va. Arthur O. Nettingham, 79, died Feb. 15, 2006, in Petersberg, Va.

He was born in Plainfield and resided there before moving to Petersberg, where he lived for the past 14 years. Arthur was a construction worker for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Iwo Jima. Surviving are his sons, Arthur "Randy" Nettingham of Gadsen, Ronald E.

Nettingham of Sacramento, Troy O. Nettingham of Plainfield, Darren W. Nettingham (Cheryl) of Virginia Beach, and Robert "Cephus" Chambliss of Ely, two daughters, Linda M. Slaughter (Keith) of Fanwood and Rosalyn L. Nettingham of Los Angeles, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Malcolm E.

Nettingham (Lorena) of Scotch Plains and Earl Nettingham of Elizabeth; three sisters, Louise Chambliss of Los Angeles, Elizabeth "Betty" Gatewood of City and Phyliss Sheppard (Jim) of Los Angeles, Calif; and a' sister-in-law, Beatrice Nettingham of Montclair. He was predeceased by a daughter, "Deena," and five brothers, James, Robert, Harvey, John and Douglas. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Thursday at the church. Arrangements by Judkins Colonial Home. Catherine Chester, 93, devoted to family MANVILLE Catherine Chester, 93, died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006 at Harborside Care Center, Bridgewater. Born in Listenburg, Catherine had been a Manville resident for many years.

She was a homemaker. Catherine had attended Catholic church in Manville. Catherine is the wife of the late Charles Chester. She is survived by her son, Robert Chester of Manville; and her grandchildren, Cindy Chester and Chris Chester, both of Manville. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m.

Thursday at Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Manville, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Sloan, pastor of Christ the King Church, Manville. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hillsborough. Frank R. Andia, 81, flight engineer BRANCHBURG Frank R.

21, 2006) at her home in Keasbey. Mrs. Balasic was born New Brunswick and had lived in Piscataway before moving to Keasbey 21 years ago. She was a customer-service representative for Hul's American in Piscataway for the last seven years. Mrs.

Balasic was a member of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Fords. She was predeceased by her mother, Ida Gildea; a sister, Ann Cenicola; and a brother, Jim Gildea. Jerry Blair Loizeaux, Nov. 25, 1925 Feb. 20, 2006 MILLINGTON Jerry Blair Loizeaux, 80, died Monday (Feb.

20, 2006) surrounded by his family in Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. Born in Plainfield, he lived in Watchung, Pennsylvania, and returned to North Plainfield in 1961 before moving to Morris County. Mr. Loizeaux was a graduate of North Plainfield High School and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943.

He was honorably discharged in 1946, and was awarded the American Theater Medal, Victory Medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Medal. His business career began by working with his father at Loizeaux Hardware Store, then as a paint salesman for BPS Paint In 1961, he worked at Paint for 28 years, retiring as regional vice president. He was a longtime member of Wilson Memorial Union Church, Watchung, where he served as Sunday School teacher and board member, as well as overseeing the Manse and working with volunteers in caring for the church. Mr. Loizeaux is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty. Also surviving are his three daughters, Jennifer L. Dunsavage and her husband, Edward, of Ashland, Claudia L. Stillwaggon and her husband, Jack, of Basking Ridge and Andrea L.

Davis and her husband, John, of Olympia, Wash. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and close cousin, Oscar T. Smith and his wife, Dagmar. Mr. Loizeaux is predeceased by his parents and sister.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Friday at Wilson Memorial Union Church, with Reverends J. Ronald Miller and Barbara Peters officiating. The viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Watchung.

13, 2006 at home in Atlanta, Ga. He was born Feb. 1, 1930 in New Brunswick, son of the late Oscar and Pearl Flakes Sistrunk. He was a graduate of the New Brunswick public school system, where he was senior class president and played football. His leadership led him to become the first African-American to attend Boys State in New Jersey.

He was a graduate of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania and Howard University of Washington, D.C. He was class president at both colleges and student government president at Howard. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Henderson Award for proficiency in operative dentistry. He served in the U.S. Army as a captain in the dental clinic and received the Distinguished Dental Award.

After his military service, Oscar and his wife, Elouise, returned to New Jersey to open a dental practice in Manville. He maintained his practice for 21 years before retiring in 1977. While in New Jersey he hosted a radio talk show on health; served as president of the Board of Education; director of the to Sigma Phi Pi fraternity. He Community Chest and belonged was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and was a founder of the local graduate chapter in New Jersey. In 1977, Oscar and Elouise moved to Central Florida, where he opened his practice in Winter Park.

He practiced dentistry for 27 years in Winter Park before retiring in 2004 and relocating to Atlanta, Ga. Some of his accomplishments included being Speaker of the House of Dele- Ernest Renda WHITEHOUSE Ernest Renda, 86, of Whitehouse died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006) at his home. Born in Mottofallone, Italy, on Aug. 3, 1919, he was the son of the late Michele and Carmela (Sirimarca) Renda.

He emigrated to the United States in 1938, settling in Green Brook. He lived in Green Brook for 32 years before moving to Whitehouse in 1970. Mr. Renda was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served from 1941 to 1945 and was stationed at Fort Shafter near Honolulu on the morning of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec.

7, 1941. In 1991, he was presented the Pearl Harbor Survivors Congressional Commemorative Medal by then Govenor James Florio. Mr. Renda owned and operated Ernest Renda Contracting Company first established in Green Brook in 1947, and then moving to Whitehouse in 1964, before retiring in 1993. During his career, he established himself as leader in his field.

Mr. Renda's company installed thousands of miles of utility pipe in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware. In 1968, Ernest Renda Contracting Company was listed in Engineering News Record's top 400 contractors nationwide. He was elected into the Utility and Transportation Contractors Association of New Jersey Hall of Fame in 1999 for service and advancements made to the construction industry. Mr.

Renda was a member of gates for the National Dental Association; serving as an examiner for the State of Florida Board of Dentistry; an active member Sigma Phi Pi fraternity, Hosts of Orlando and director of Project Dental Care. Oscar dedicated his practice to serving everyone. He provided excellent dental care to all, from those on Medicaid, the homeless, those in nursing homes and many other citizens within his community. In 1995, he received the Florida Dental Association Award for Community Service. In 2004, he was honored by the Dental Society of Greater Orlando as the first recipient of the Oscar Sistrunk Humanitarian Award for outstanding service to the community.

And in 2005, he was inducted into the New Brunswick High School Athletic Hall of Fame. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Corinne Sistrunk Henry. He is survived by his wife, Elouise; two sons, Oscar Sistrunk II and Mark Herman Sistrunk; a daughter, Janice Sistrunk Carlton; son-in-law, Wilfred Carlton; daughter-inlaw, Teloca Sistrunk; granddaughters, Jamarri Sistrunk, Cassandra Sistrunk, Valeria Sistrunk; brother-in-law, Wilmore Henry; nieces, Caryl Henry Alexander and Deborah Haywood; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, 771 Somerset Somerset.

Entombment will be in Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum, North Brunswick. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Funeral Service, New Brunswick. the Vetrans of Foreign Wars Post 5479 of Dunellen; the American Legion Post 284 of Whitehouse; Harbor Survivors Association Chapter 2 of Hanover and the Italian American Club of Whitehouse.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bibbiana Sabatino Renda; two sons, Ernest A. (Louisa) of Somerset and Alfred (Luisa) of Ringoes; five daughters, Carmela "Sandy" (Stephen) Lane of Bernardsville, Laura (Linus) Beck of Green Brook, Joanne (Ronald) Hogg of Marriottsville, Michele (Brian Piantadosi) Renda of WhitePhyllis (Dean) DeStefano of Whitehouse Station; and 17 grandchildren of whom he was most proud. He was predeceased by three sisters, Saveria, Maria and Angelina; and six brothers, Alessandro, Antonio, Vincenzo, Francesco, Guiseppe and Oscar. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated 9:30 a.m.

Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
